ELE Christchurch ‘Exceptional Work’

ELE Christchurch ‘Exceptional Work’

The ELE team in Christchurch was pleased to be informed on Wednesday that four of its carpenters were to be given awards by an ELE client, CPB Contractors, for ‘exceptional work’ on one of their sites. The four individuals, Nino Inguin, Erwin Agbayani, Antonio Niez and Pablo Baguingey, were singled out for praise at a site meeting last week because of their work ethic and consistent efforts towards the Christchurch hospital project. Speaking to Jo Harris, ELE’s Sales Director, it was clear that all of the team were extremely pleased…

Who’d Have Four-ght It?

Who’d Have Four-ght It?

Mizuno Ballpark was alight last Saturday with the Canterbury Championship softball finals, seeing ELE Papanui romp home in back to back games (3-2 and 4-2) against the PCU Devils to secure the title for the fourth year running. The team, backed by sponsors ELE Group, have had a fantastic season to date and would be looking to further their silverware collection in the national competition had the current coronavirus preventative measures ruled out the chance of play going ahead.   Speaking to ELE Papanui’s Jackson Watt, one gets the…

Triathlon Success for Charley Marsh

Triathlon Success for Charley Marsh

Sunday may have been a day like any other for most of us, but for ELE’s Charley Marsh, it was certainly one to remember. She entered the Kapiti Women’s Triathlon. The event itself has been running since 1983, but for Charley, it was the first event like this in which she’d participated; not that you could tell with her very respectable time of 1 hour, 29 minutes and 39 seconds. The idea to enter the race came about several months before when Charley had caught a glimpse of a billboard…

New Zealand’s Construction Boom and the Paradoxical Busts

New Zealand’s Construction Boom and the Paradoxical Busts

There is a lot of talk in New Zealand of the housing and construction boom as compared to fears elsewhere in the world of an imminent recession; but if the grass here is so much greener, one has to wonder why ‘33%’1 of construction companies ‘are intending to cut jobs’2 over the coming months and why firms like Tallwood Holdings and Stanley Group were ‘placed in voluntary liquidation’3 last year – the aforementioned impacting us directly. From our involvement in the construction sector, we’ve also seen a bottleneck on housing…

On the 18th of September, ELE hosted a training session in Christchurch for its contractors. The changing face of road transport

The changing face of road transport

We’ve featured this incredible Nikola One hydrogen powered semi-truck in our new ad campaign for ELE Truck and Driver. It’s a pretty interesting insight into the way the industry – and transport in general – is changing. The Nikola One is a zero emission hydrogen and electric semi-truck. It’s powered by a stack of hydrogen fuel cells and a 320 kWh battery. It has over 1,000 hp and 2,000 ft.-lb. of torque with a range of 800 miles on a single tank of hydrogen and can be refuelled in just…
